What’s a FungiBlitz?
In short, a FungiBlitz is a BioBlitz of mushrooms and fungi! What is a BioBlitz, you ask? BioBlitzes are a blend of science, celebration, education, community, and loads of fun. Scientists and ordinary citizens fan out to find orchids and otters, ferns and frogs, birds and butterflies, lichens and liverworts. In the case of our FungiBlitz, we'll be confining our search to fungi and their close relatives (lichens and slime molds too!). And it all happens in one 24-hour period.

The Montpelier FungiBlitz
The Montpelier FungiBlitz is open to people of all ages and interests - from the beginner with just a mild curiosity in mushrooms to mycologists eager to look at spore prints under microscopes. Edible, medicinal and poisonous mushrooms will be among the topics covered in forays, workshops and demonstrations. We'll be conducting a complete (as possible!) inventory of the city's fungi.
